The unique properties of double-walled heat shrink sleeves allow them to be used in any application requiring high operating temperatures, non-stick surfaces, high resistance, and chemical resistance. PTFE/FEP double-wall heat shrink tank components are made of pure gas plastic. As the PTFE outer casing shrinks, the FEP inner casing melts and flows through the assembly. After cooling, the fluoropolymer heat shrink material fully encapsulates and seals the components. This provides superior protection against moisture, mechanical exposure, and chemicals, even under submerged conditions. Double-walled heat shrink tubing is a fluoroplastic alternative to polyolefin adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing. Heat shrink tubing offers many advantages due to PTFE jacketing: non-stick and lubrication properties, as well as resistance to high temperatures, chemicals, and electricity. In addition, PTFE heat shrink tubing is ideal for covering complex profiles, shapes, and terminals.
Due to the FEP inner sleeve, PTFE/FEP double-walled heat shrink tubing can only withstand a continuous operating temperature limit of +200°C. For higher temperature applications, PTFE heat shrink sleeves with PFA inner walls are recommended.
